belt dressing, the can in the drawer from the previous guy

The belt slips for a second when I start a heavier cut. There's a can of belt dressing in the drawer that came with the 9 inch. The label is mostly gone. I don't know if that stuff saves a belt or just makes a mess I'll regret in the ways.

Tension first. A dressed glazed belt still slips, and the dressing ends up on the pulleys and then on your hands and then on the work. If the belt is cracked, replace it. The can is not a repair.

Tightened the motor mount. The slip stopped. The can stays in the drawer as a relic. Thanks for the short version.
