auction lot, mostly rust, one tool worth keeping

Bought a tote at the Pullman auction because the handle looked like a South Bend compound handle. The tote is mostly broken drills and a faceplate with the threads mashed. The handle is real. I paid forty dollars to stand in a gravel lot. Not sure I won.

You won a handle and a lesson. The faceplate is scrap unless you enjoy recutting a spindle nose, which you shouldn't. I'll take the drills for the steel if you don't want them. Moses Lake is not on your way. Forget I offered.

Handle is on the compound. Faceplate is in the scrap bucket. Drills too. Forty dollars for a handle I can live with. The lesson was free, which is suspicious.
