Polished a collar with a pad because I wanted it to look like I cared. The ways now have a fine gray dust that isn't a chip. I wiped. I don't think I wiped enough. How bad a habit is this, really.

Bad. The dust is abrasive and it lives in the oil. Cover the bed or do it somewhere else. 'I wiped' is what people say before the ways look sanded.

Bed's covered now, after the fact, which is the theme of the shop. Collar looks nice. Ways got another oil and a wipe I trusted less. I won't do it open again.
