belt walks off the small pulley when the shop is cold

cold shop, belt walks off the motor pulley about a minute after start. once the room is less mean it stays. same belt all summer, no walk. i dont want a new belt if the old one is just cold

Cold belts get stiff and they climb. Check that the pulleys are still in line when the motor is tight. A stiff belt shows a misalignment a warm one forgives. If they're in line, let it warm before you load it. Don't dressing it. We had that talk.

motor was a little cocked. loosened the mount, lined it up with a straight edge that is actually a level, tightened. this morning it stayed on. ill take it
