Hi. I bought a South Bend 9 inch bench lathe last month from a guy in Post Falls who was moving and seemed relieved to see it go. I think it's a late 50s or early 60s. The serial tag is there and I haven't looked it up because I didn't want to be wrong in the first post, which is dumb, because now I'm wrong by being vague.
I've turned some aluminum spacers. They fit. I read the measure-first thread twice so I wouldn't open with 'any ideas.' I don't have a crisis yet. I mostly wanted to exist on the board before I have one.
Shop is a single car garage in Coeur d'Alene. The floor is concrete and not flat and I already read Dave's wood floor thread so I know I'm not special.

Swing and year, then we'll talk. You already named the swing. Look up the serial and edit it in when you have it. You don't need a crisis.

Post the lathe, not the feelings. You'll be fine.

Serial puts it at 1958, model A. I edited the feeling out of my notes and left it in the thread anyway because deleting a post feels like a crime. Thanks. I'll come back when I break a finish.
