sheared a leveling screw on the way out the door

Logan, about 900 lb with the bench it was born on. Come-along, two furniture dollies, a doorway that was a quarter inch optimistic. One leveling foot snapped in the threads. Not the floor. The screw.

Those feet were never a lifting point. Drill the stub, easy-out if it isn't already mushroomed, and make a new one out of something that isn't mystery pot metal. Don't put the lathe back on three feet and a brick.

the chip is the picture

Stub is mushroomed. I'll drill it. The brick comment was fair and I resent it.

Resent it while you drill. A brick under a lathe is how you get the taper thread back next winter.
