cross slide screw has a flat worn in it

The cross slide on the Logan tightens up once a rev, like a high spot. I can feel it in the handle. Nut is brass and looks tired. Screw looks tired in the same place. Do I stone the screw, replace both, or live with a lathe that has a pulse.

Indicate the slide while you crank. If the pulse is a thou at the tool, you will chase size all day. Stone a burr, do not stone a worn pitch. If the thread is flat, replace the pair. A new screw in a bellmouth nut keeps the pulse.

Lived with a pulse for a year. It becomes the way you cut, and then everything you make is out in the same stupid rhythm. Replace the pair.

Pulse at the tool was about a thou and a half. Ordered screw and nut. It's a Logan, the parts exist, I was just being cheap in a slow way.
