half nut on the logan doesnt close unless i help it with a finger. spring is in two pieces in the chip pan, or the chip pan ate it. zip tie is holding the lever for now. this is a confession not a plan

Confession accepted. A zip tie will slack off when the shop warms up, and you thread with it anyway. Hardware store spring that fits the post is a dollar. Match the length, not the romance of the original.
