10K, freshly oiled, because of the tar episode. After twenty minutes at a medium belt the housing is warm to the back of my hand. Not hot. Not smell. I don't have a number. Is warm a symptom or a lathe.

Put a thermometer on it, not your hand. Under 50 C at the housing after half an hour is a running bearing. Climbing past that, or a hot spot you can't hold, is a tight preload or no oil where you think there is oil.

Infrared on the housing, 42 C at thirty minutes. Shop was 16. I'll stop touching it like it owes me a confession.
