leveling a 9A on a wood floor

Update. It was the bench racking, not the bed. I bolted a diagonal in the frame, 1/4 flat, nothing pretty. Two-collar came back under half a thou and stayed there overnight with the heater cycling. I'm leaving the feet alone.

The diagonal is the whole hobby. I'm putting that on a shirt and wearing it to the lumber yard.

Same story on a garage slab in Kelowna that isn't actually flat. I stopped fighting the last 0.02 mm. If the fit is a bearing, I do it in the afternoon when the room has settled.

Slab isn't a slab here either. Tin roof, afternoon, two-collar moves a couple of thou and comes back after dark. I cut the fussy stuff at night. You lot can keep the frost.

Digging this up. Sorry. 9A on 2x12s, I did the diagonal like Dave said in the update. It still creeps a little in January. Is that just the wood, or did I do the brace wrong? I don't have a second winter yet to compare.

January is the wood. If the cut is fine, leave it. If you're chasing tenths, get off the timber. The brace didn't fail.
